Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon faced an attack on Saturday night when a group of women claimed she and her driver assaulted three individuals, including an elderly woman. A shocking video circulating online shows Raveena being attacked and pleading with the group to not hit her, saying, “Please don’t hit me,” while trying to defend herself.
CCTV footage has verified that Raveena’s car did not hit the women, and she only engaged with them to protect her driver. According to the Free Press Journal, Raveena’s driver is accused of rash driving, allegedly hitting three people at Mumbai’s Carter Road near Rizvi College. When confronted by the women, Raveena reportedly got out of the car. The report claims she was under the influence of alcohol and ‘abused and assaulted’ the victims.
In the video, one of the women can be heard telling Raveena, “You will have to spend the night in jail. My nose is bleeding.” Raveena is heard urging the crowd, “Don’t push. Please don’t hit me.” Upon noticing the camera, she asked the person filming to stop.
Earlier, a source told News18 that a group of women gathered outside Raveena’s residence around 9 pm on Saturday. “The portrayal of this incident is incorrect. CCTV footage from the area shows that the women came to Raveena Tandon’s home and began shouting at and fighting with her driver. She intervened to protect him,” the insider explained.
The source questioned, “If the driver had injured them, why didn’t they go to the police and file an FIR? Contrary to reports, Raveena was not drunk, and the claims about the driver attacking the women are false and fabricated.” Raveena has not issued a statement as the matter is now being handled by her lawyer.
